Cyclospora cayetanensis: Current status, epidemiology, diagnostics, prevention and control

Join the MSU Global Health Institute's Mekong One Health Innovation Program (MOHIP) for a webinar on the current status, epidemiology, diagnostics, prevention and control methods for Cyclospora cayetanensis, a food-borne parasite recently responsible for sickness outbreaks in the United States and beyond.

The webinar will include a presentation by Dr. Sarmilla Tandukar, an environmental health and microbiology researcher specializing in wastewater-based epidemiology, infectious disease surveillance, and water quality. She currently serves as a WASH Consultant with UNICEF and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Yamanashi, Japan. With more than 15 years of experience in research, public health, and higher education, she has contributed to major international projects on pandemic preparedness and environmental surveillance and has authored more than 55 peer-reviewed publications. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the 2025 OWSD-Elsevier Foundation Award for Inclusive Health.
