We are all interconnected.
The health of human populations around the world is inextricably linked to the health of animals and our environment. As we aim to improve health outcomes and achieve equity in health for all people worldwide, it is more critical than ever to bring together experts from numerous fields — medicine, engineering, veterinary medicine, anthropology, communication, economics, sociology, and more — to tackle these issues head-on. The One Health approach relies on collaboration across disciplines and cultures to find effective and lasting solutions to the emerging global health challenges of the 21st century.
The Master of Science in Global Health and the Graduate Certificate in Global Health programs are designed to empower graduates with the tools and skills necessary to address global health challenges. Though the programs are located within the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine, they were initiated by the MSU Institute for Global Health. The programs’ faculty and courses represent many different colleges and disciplines within the university, such as Veterinary Medicine, Human Medicine, Social Science, Arts and Letters, as well as non-governmental organizations and other agencies with a focus on global health. Students will have unique opportunities to learn from experienced global health practitioners and researchers from around the world.
