OST 695 – Global Health: Costa Rica – Clinical Immersion, Culture and Medicine (3 Credits)
Through didactic lectures and immersive experiences, this study abroad course will enable students to develop better knowledge and understanding of the Spanish language, Costa Rica's biodiversity and its challenges, Latin American culture, the One Health approach and health issues, healthcare practices and the healthcare system in the country. This course is designed to enlighten students on issues of community and public health and healthcare systems with relevance to the transdisciplinary focus of One Health and displaced people in the Latin American region.
